Even more, I believe the statement "I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life" is actually a strong way of saying it will never happen... it is similar to "I will never leave you, or forsake you."Dave Swavelyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10903342933814792279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6480260783011142201.post-63439702336100068562012-01-06T15:14:30.939-08:002012-01-06T15:14:30.939-08:00I came to a personal knowledge of Christ at 5 afte...I came to a personal knowledge of Christ at 5 after being convicted of a sin I had committed and hearing a sermon on the Lamb of God. The Atonement and propitiation for sin are concepts a young child can understand if presented clearly. Our children both made a decision to follow Christ very young. Our youngest was barely 3. He approached my wife in the laundry room, tugged on her apron and said, "I Want to Know Jesus." My wife explained to him how to accept the sacrifice of Christ for him.

I note that in Romans 2, sin is not reckoned against a person with no knowledge of God's laws. Now God writes the moral law on the hearts of people, but before an age when that is understood, it appears to me that would mean very young children are exempt from judgment.
For me to have rejected Christ at 5 would have condemned me because I would have understood the remedy for sin and rejected it.

There is a concept in the Bible about one's name being erased from the Lamb's Book of Life (Rev. 3:5). While in a different context, I have often wondered if God wrote the names of children in the Book of Life and then erases them if they refuse to submit to the knowledge he gives to all, so they are without excuse. Any thoughts on that?Johnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00874891113526653147noreply@blogger.com
